Dr. Wolfgang Zumdick is a philosopher, writer on contemporary arts and curator, based in Germany, whose work explores the philosophical underpinnings of the social sculpture ideas in their historical perspective and their relevance for contemporary life.
He has lectured widely both as a guest lecturer at the University of Basel and as a keynote speaker to numerous national and international Beuys symposia; authored five monographs and written catalogue essays for museums and galleries including Portikus Frankfurt, Zürich Kunsthaus, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, Sevilla, Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Vigo and the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. He is actively engaged in the work of the Social Sculpture Research Unit and is currently International Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford Brookes University
